"Note Sounds"

I have just started playing about a week ago, and have practiced the single notes a lot. However, even when I use my fingers to block off the other holes to make sure its a single note, it still does not sound at all like the examples on the site. Is there some kind of articulation or something that I'm missing here? None of my notes sound good at all! - Rich

Rich,

You need to make sure that your fingers are really tight when covering the holes -- open your mouth very wide to accomodate this action. Don't be shy here. Your notes then should sound just like the examples you've been listening to, nice and loud and clear -- no articulation is needed.

Play on,
Dave
