If you're interested in playing this I definitely recommend getting the original from iTunes or eMusic. It makes a great solo piece for anyone looking for an unaccompanied harp/singing complete blues song. My tab isn't 100% what Hammie Nixon plays (he improvises a few verses and I have ommited his errors), but it will definitely give you all the flavor of what he's doing. Harp key: C in 2nd position.Sung: "Mailman,"

Sung: "Please stop by my box today."

Sung: "You know I'm lookin' for a letter from my baby,"

Sung: "You know I won't hear from her right away."

I play the other verses the exact same way except where noted in the final verse:
Realized I ain't gettin no mail,
You know I done found out what it's all about.
Realized I ain't gettin no mail,
You know I done found out what it's all about.
You know the mailman been gettin drunk,
He been leaving my mail at somebody else's house.
Now I been waitin on the mailman;
He usually come around 'bout 11 o'clock.
Now I been waitin on the mailman;
He usually come around 'bout 11 o'clock.
I guess he must'a had car trouble,
Or either the road must be blocked.
Mailman,
Please don't you loose your head.
Mailman,
Please don't you loose your head.
You know I'm lookin for a letter from my baby,
Some of my people might be dead. (here I play: 4D 4D 4D 2D
3D 2D 3D 3D 3D 2D 2D-b 2D)
If anyone gives it a shot and likes it, post a reply here.
