"Jeremy Olliges playing critique"

Hi,

My name's Jeremy and my old band is getting back together again. I'm not a new player by any means, but in the same token I'd never consider myself a master. I could really use some feedback on my playing. If you go to:
http://www.myspace.com/thetrustees you can here me play on 3 of the 4 songs. The one titled "movin on", "Dr.Jones" and "Tonight I'm gonna get drunk". We have a big gig next thurs and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Jeremy,

I listened to "Movin On" and thought it sounded good. Good tone, timing, phrasing, feel, and what you played fit the song real well.

"Dr. Jones": Sounds good too. One thing to consider for this type of song is using the Country Scale, but it's not mandatory, and it won't be better, just different than what you played-

"Tonight I'm gonna get drunk": Again, sounds good. There's nothing wrong with what you did, but you might consider working on the Country Scale to add a different flavor in contrast to what you are already comfortable playing.

You can always do more, but what you're doing now is good. I certainly wouldn't consider any changes before your gig.

Play on,
Dave Gage
