As well Dave try to put the harp as far into your mouth as you can, it makes a hugh difference. What you must be doing in order for your lips to be sore isn't good. try to get out of that practise as soon as you can. Bad playing habbits are what harp players DO NOT need! Persistence however is the key to better playing as long as you have the right techn, good advice by D5d though.
